Book your tickets and save the date, Carol
Channing is coming to town Saturday, May 21, 2005 There is only one Carol Channing and there is only one performer who does her justice. In fact, Richard Skipper's impersonation of the legendary diva is the only one sanctioned by Channing herself, and one need only attend a performance of "An Evening With Carol Channing Starring Richard Skipper" to find out why. Henlopen Theater Project is extremely proud to bring this "Evening" to the Cape Henlopen High School Theater in Lewes for ONE NIGHT ONLY. The performance will start at 8 pm. Richard Skipper is one of the most respected and acclaimed entertainers in the business. An Evening with Carol Channing is a fully staged and choreographed, 90 minute musical montage celebrating the career and persona of this unique, theatrical legend. It blends Channing standards with original material as it surveys her life and resume with stops along the way for Skipper's unique - and riotous - "ad lib" interactions with his audience. Rainbow Chorale Concerts Slated May 21, Under the direction of founding Artistic Director, Elliot Jones, The Rainbow Chorale takes again to the stage at First and Central Presbyterian Church in Wilmington. Entitled "CLOUDBURST" the performance will be rich with featured works by Eric Whitacre, Aaron Copland, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter. Evoking the soothing sounds of nature with rich classical music, some jazz and a few notable contemporary pieces, it will represent a highlight in the tenure of the chorale. In addition, we are so fortunate to be joined by the Wilmington Handbell Ensemble, under the Direction of Michael Helman. It will be a truly memorable performance. If you want to see us again, or if you can't make the Wilmington performance we travel to Rehoboth on June 25th where we perform in our first ever pride celebration. Entitled "PRIDE," our choristers will surprise and delight our audiences from the stage at Epworth United Methodist Church. The repertoire will include songs that celebrate the GLBT community as individuals, and should prove to be most entertaining. We just wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for your continued support. Without the support of our friends, the Rainbow Chorale would not be celebrating the upcoming invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City! Each of you should be proud that your contributions have helped to bring this little chorus from Delaware to an international stage! While that performance is not until February 2006, we wanted to be sure and let you know of our upcoming performances. We have been working very hard in order to present you, our audiences, with a quality, polished musical performance. Tickets are $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door, and can also be purchased by calling 888-512-5093 or e-mail info@therainbowchorale.org . When contacting the Rainbow Chorale of Delaware be sure to secure your copy of the recently released CD Sing Me to Heaven, representing the best of the FIRST STATE’S first and only GLBT chorus.
